Frequently asked Questions

Which modality works the best

All the modalities are powerful and effective they are all amazing tools your therapist will advise on the discovery call.

What does hypnosis feel like during and after the session?

Everyone feels different, it is very relaxing as if you are in a trance-like state. It is extremely safe. Leading into hypnosis I will use a setting personally adapted to your requests. This could be a beach or garden setting, colour coordinated, visualised and auditory to your needs. You are free to come out of hypnosis at any time. It is normal to come out of trance with a big smile on your face and feeling empowered and excited with an increased surge of energy. However, you can also feel exhausted and need to sleep it is all depended on the trauma unlocked and with each individual experience being different. Clients will normally experience additional insights and revelations in the days and weeks following the session.

Am I in control?

You are fully in control whilst under hypnosis you are aware of my voice and what is being discussed. Nobody can make you do anything you do not want to do it is nothing like you see on TV.

How is ACH hypnosis different?

Advanced Conversational Hypnosis is activated by utilising words to create trance in a casual structured induction. Some say it is like using a backdoor to the subconscious mind although it works the same by working with the sub conscious mind. The difference is unlike functional hypnosis where the client remains in a trance with ACH the client may have their eyes open and appear awake.

What happens if something arises, I am not ready to talk about?

I work with clients somatically therefore I will treat the nervous system which holds the memory first, therefore I am aware of how activated you are and work gently. However during hypnosis if anything does occur you are not comfortable with  you can simply answer internally and say I do not want to talk about this and we move on.

How does hypnosis work?

Hypnosis is ‘science’! It works by creating a burst of brain waves that are the same as when you are in REM. (a phase of sleep) We can then access the subconscious mind which is where the important work starts.

What is regression?

Regression is an effective tool that is used to uncover memories that hold the reasons for an issue. Under hypnosis these memories are easily accessible, it is important to know that you will not be reliving the memories, we will just be reviewing

Is Therapy completely confidential?

Yes, absolutely it is important to build a trusting relationship therefore anything we discuss during our sessions are confidential. I will however discuss our work with my supervisor as this is a requirement for all therapists. But will not reveal any of your details which identify you, I will also write brief notes in our sessions, I will not share any information without your consent unless there is a legal or ethical need for me to do so, I follow all necessary protocol as required to keep your information safety.

Is a therapy session just as effective on Zoom?

Yes, it is just as powerful on Zoom as in person, I work with clients all over the world it is just like having your therapy session in the comfort of your home , Just think of it as a stimulated powerful experience with phenomenal results.

Your commitment

The commitment to show up for a session must be yours as opposed to your partners wishes or of your parents, Caregivers.

Are sessions guaranteed?

No professional will guarantee results especially if you do not follow through with the advice your therapist has given to you for aftercare, as this can impact the results you receive. However, if you look at my testimonials from previous clients I have worked with this shows the permanent results they have received.

Aftercare: Listening to your recording of Hypnosis.

As the mind learns by repetition it is vital you listen to your recording for 21 days. The science behind this is because the neurons that fire together wire together.  Studies show neurons formed after hypnosis provide new pathways that will become stronger the more, we listen to the audio. Think about how difficult we find learning a new habit, it is unfamiliar therefore the more we listen and practice the more familiar it becomes.
